The Overbrook Academic curriculum seeks the harmonious development of each
girl´s intellectual formation. The curriculum includes English grammar and Spelling,
French, Spanish, Geography, World History, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Catholic
Formation, Civics, Health, Public Speaking, Literature, Debate, and Music Appreciation.
Small study groups and classes of 15-25 students allow teachers
to identify and maximize individual talents. Competitions on and off
campus for academics and athletics challenge our students to give
their very best.
Faculty At Overbrook Academy,
teachers are carefully selected as educators who are trained in
accordance with our philosophy and method of formation. There is
a full-time General Dean of Students, Dean of Studies and
15 faculty teachers To ensure personal attention, the student body
is divided into sections, each with its own Instructor of
Formation and team of Deans.
Our
school year is divided into four quarters. Various methods of
evaluation are used including tests, quizzes, oral presentations, daily and
long term assignments, hands-on projects and the daily observation of
work habits. After each quarter each student receives her report
card with a numeric grade for each subject and information
from her teachers regarding her progress in her subjects.
